Country Profiles

RESPOND country profiles provide a snapshot of a country's demographic status, key indicators, and current trends in relation to the fifth Millennium Development Goal (MDG) - to improve Maternal Health and reduce by three-quarters the maternal mortality ratio. This is followed by a discussion of long-acting and permanent methods (LA/PMs) as a programmatic investment and the role this can play in enabling a country to cost-effectively meet its fertility, health and development goals.

Using the most recent DHS data, the profiles (1) illustrate whether current trends in CPR and program performance will be sufficient to meet national FP goals; and (2) highlight gaps in unmet need for limiting and spacing births as well as to suggest ways that LA/PMs can assist with both.

Profiles are available for the following countries:

Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso (FR)
Cambodia DRC Ethiopia

Guinea (FR)

Kenya Madagascar Malawi Mali
