Use Dynamic Study

The goal of this study is to foster understanding of the dynamics that drive the use and non-use of LA/PMs. Program planners can use the data to inform strategies that ensure a broader choice of family planning (FP) methods and support women's and men's reproductive intentions. Specific objectives of the study are to:

  • Deepen global understanding of decision-making related to LA/PMs among clients who have chosen to use (especially in low-use settings), clients with unmet need, service providers and influentials and national and local levels
  • Deepen understanding of differences between LA & PM decisions
  • Contribute contextual information to the global policy dialogue on FP programming and policies
  • Support reproductive health dialogue at the country level

The study was carried out in Cambodia, Malawi and Nigeria using social research methods, to reveal how people regard LA/PMs and their perceptions of effectivness, ease of access, cost and fear of side effects.
