Santiago Plata

Deputy Director

With more than fifteen years of professional experience at EngenderHealth, Santiago Plata is currently the Deputy Director of the RESPOND Project. Mr. Plata is responsible for financial management and general oversight of the RESPOND Project's field programs. Mr. Plata's previous positions at EngenderHealth include Deputy Director of the ACQUIRE Project; Director of Field Operations and Regional Director for Asia, based in Bangkok, Thailand; and Director of Country and Program Support.  

His diverse experience with international agencies and development programs include: eight years as Director of Social Marketing Programs and Director of the Social Marketing for Change (SOMARC) Project for the Futures Group International; nine years as a senior manager for PROFAMILIA, the premier south-to-south health provider in Colombia; and two years as a senior regional representative in Latin America for a multinational pharmaceutical company. He has programming expertise in marketing and communications, monitoring, sustainability, business development, and clinic-based family planning and reproductive health.

Mr. Plata has a degree in economics from the Universidad del Rosario, Bogotá, Colombia. He has field experience in more than 35 countries.
